Mid Winter Update

Got back to BC mid February after a fantastic trip to Japan just in time for a few good storms...  Had some great guided trips in the backyard, off Blackcomb, out to Fissile Peak with a couple strong clients and up the Duffey Area with Trevor Linden and his friends.  Had a great group of super keeners for an AST 2 course given over 2 weekends.  Please contact me if you would like to organize an AST 2 course as I am now officially a provider.

The pace as changed in the last week with the arrival of my newborn son, Mika!  A couple friends from Squamish graciously donated their house for us to have a natural homebirth.  What a surreal experience!  My wife Alex and I are completely elated and taking some well deserved home time with this little nugget.  Here's to another future Whistler shredder!

The Decker Glacier has seen some impressive receding over the last few years, we keep seeing drastic changes from year to year to the glacier toe wall.

Always great to ski the mighty Fissile.   One of the great steep skiing objectives within a day's walk from Whistler.  Here's Matt on the NW face.

Emily, Leslie, Andrea, Chelsea, Phil and Sam all had a blast on their AST 2 course over 2 weekends. Great weather and stability allowed us to get on some longer tours.  Here's the descent off the North Glacier of Cayoosh Mtn.

Welcome to the world Mika Wolf Goodman Thomson!  Born on March 12th at our friends Robyn and Duncan's house in Squamish, BC.  He was a healthy little fellow at 9.7lbs!
